Laboratory Technician – Microbiology Section

About the role

QIMA is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join its Microbiology Section. The successful candidate will support daily microbiological testing, ensuring accurate results and compliance with ISO 17025 standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare samples for microbiological testing.
• Apply aseptic techniques throughout daily work.
• Maintain media, reagents, and laboratory equipment.
• Inventory and report expendable supplies required for testing.
• Perform quality‑control monitoring, including incubator temperature checks and control organism inoculation.
• Follow standard methods and ISO 17025 procedures independently.
• Keep accurate records and uphold laboratory hygiene and safety.
• Share information promptly with the team and assist in priority management.

Required profile

• Malagasy nationality.
• Degree in Microbiology or a related field.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience (advantageous).
• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Willingness to work odd hours and public holidays.
