Senior Cyber Security Engineer – Remote (UK)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join a leading UK retailer’s cyber security team. Working fully remote across the UK, you will be part of the Prevent and Protect pillar, focusing on implementing security controls and improving the organisation’s security posture across a hybrid infrastructure and Azure environment.

Key responsibilities

• Improve security across a hybrid infrastructure that includes Azure and on‑premise systems.
• Design and implement security controls for identity, endpoint and infrastructure platforms.
• Provide practical security guidance to infrastructure and technology projects.
• Strengthen Azure security capabilities, including identity, access management and cloud protection.
• Collaborate closely with the cyber leadership and infrastructure teams to embed security into platforms, projects and cloud services.

Required profile

• Strong experience as a Cyber Security Engineer, Infrastructure Security Engineer or a similar role.
• Solid understanding of infrastructure security, covering identity, networking and endpoint protection.
• Proven experience securing hybrid environments with exposure to Azure.
• Experience deploying or managing endpoint security or EDR solutions.
• Ability to clearly explain the reasoning behind security controls and architectural decisions.
• Hands‑on ownership of security engineering across multiple infrastructure and cloud domains.
