Field Officer – Clean Cooking Carbon Project

About the role

The Onja Carbon Field Officer will support the delivery of a clean‑cooking carbon offset project on Madagascar’s East Coast. The role blends distribution logistics, community engagement, data collection, and reporting to ensure successful stove roll‑outs and accurate carbon accounting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist planning and execution of cookstove distribution, including household surveys, registration, and logistics coordination.
• Build and maintain respectful relationships with participating households, community members, and project stakeholders.
• Support Onja operations team in the field, resolve issues promptly, and communicate transparently with the wider team.
• Explain the carbon offset project to households and lead engaging training sessions on stove use.
• Collect reliable field data through surveys, monitoring visits, interviews, photographs, GPS records, and other methods.
• Review field data for inconsistencies or gaps and raise any concerns immediately.
• Maintain organized, verifiable records of all field activities.

Required profile

• Flexible, reliable, and good judgment.
• Comfortable traveling to remote areas on Madagascar’s East Coast.
• Strong communication skills and ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
