Founder – Madagascar Freeze‑Dried Fruit Company

About the role

You will launch and own Madagascar's first freeze‑dried fruit company, creating the anchor firm of a brand‑new export sector. Backed by Exporters Without Borders, you will work full‑time on the ground for the first six months with dedicated mentorship and initial funding.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute a pilot freeze‑drying operation using Madagascar's abundant lychee harvest.
• Build the supply‑chain from local growers to international buyers, ensuring quality and compliance.
• Raise additional capital with the incubator's support to scale production to light‑industrial levels.
• Recruit and lead a team as the business grows, eventually employing hundreds.
• Develop partnerships with local agro‑processors and export agencies.

Required profile

• Deep commitment to economic growth in low‑income countries.
• High‑agency, high‑energy mindset comfortable with uncertainty and limited resources.
• Willingness to live full‑time in Madagascar for at least two years.
• Proven track record of executing a challenging project, not necessarily a business.

Required skills

• Experience with supply‑chain logistics and export processes (preferred).
• Commercial instincts such as negotiating, pricing, and supplier coordination (preferred).
