Retail Account Manager – Sheffield

About the role

We are seeking a Retail Account Manager to join our growing commercial team in Sheffield. This office‑based, full‑time role focuses on managing a portfolio of independent retail customers across the UK, maintaining strong relationships, ensuring regular ordering and identifying opportunities to increase spend.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of independent retail customer accounts.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with business owners and key decision‑makers.
• Conduct regular outbound calls to keep customers engaged and drive consistent ordering.
• Identify upselling and cross‑selling opportunities to increase sales.
• Reactivate dormant or declining accounts and improve customer retention.
• Provide accurate quotations and process customer orders.
• Maintain up‑to‑date customer records, activity logs and order information in the CRM system.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth order fulfilment and high customer satisfaction.
• Contribute to individual and team sales targets.

Required profile

• Previous experience in sales, account management, customer service or telesales.
• Comfortable making regular outbound calls and building relationships over the phone.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organised with the ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
• Proactive, self‑motivated and target‑driven.
• Resilient, commercially aware and detail‑oriented.

Required skills

• CRM (customer relationship management) system proficiency.
