Socio-Organizer – Community Development (2‑year contract)

About the role

The Socio-Organizer will strengthen the capacity, governance and effectiveness of Producer Organizations (POs) and farming communities in Antananarivo. Working on a renewable two‑year contract, the role focuses on mobilising, structuring and supporting POs while integrating gender, youth, social inclusion and environmental safeguards into all activities.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, mobilise and support the formation and formalisation of Producer Organizations within the project area.
• Facilitate governance strengthening, networking and partnership development for POs.
• Design and deliver capacity‑building programmes on leadership, organisational development, planning and financial management.
• Assist POs in preparing action plans, mobilising resources and establishing links with government services, financial institutions, input suppliers and buyers.
• Organise community sensitisation, stakeholder consultations, exchange visits and conflict‑resolution activities.
• Promote gender equality, youth participation, social inclusion and environmental safeguards across all interventions.
• Coordinate data collection, monitoring, reporting and documentation of lessons learned.
• Collaborate with project teams, local partners and government agencies to ensure effective implementation.

Required profile

• University degree (Bac+4) in sociology, human geography, rural development, agronomy, anthropology or a related field.
• Additional training in community organising, organisational development or rural animation is an asset.
• Minimum three years of professional experience in community organisation, rural animation or PO development within agricultural or rural development projects.
