Station Accountant

About the role

The Station Accountant will manage day‑to‑day financial operations for the station, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, budget monitoring, and compliance with IITA and World Bank procedures. This is a 2‑year renewable contract based in Antananarivo, reporting to the Project Head of Mission.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review project financial reports and partner financial justifications.
• Respond to queries from Budget Officers regarding project funds and status.
• Develop, maintain, and analyse budgets, and raise journal entries for necessary adjustments.
• Load transactions into Oracle and reconcile donor receivables with grant income.
• Support the institute’s annual audit by providing schedules and answering audit queries.
• Produce month‑end budget monitoring reports and perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• University degree (Master’s level) in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Experience managing accounting for internationally funded projects is an asset.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in French and English; Malagasy is a plus.
• Strong analytical mindset, team player, and high integrity.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Oracle accounting software.
