Technical Advisor – Maternal, Newborn & Child Health (MNCH)

About the role

The Technical Advisor – MNCH will provide strategic and technical leadership for the STRIDES activity in Madagascar, ensuring that maternal, newborn, and child health surveillance and life‑saving interventions are aligned with global guidance, national policies, and donor regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of MNCH components of the STRIDES workplan.
• Provide technical oversight of in‑country activities, troubleshoot challenges, and adapt interventions to evolving epidemiologic contexts.
• Strengthen capacity of MNCH systems through mentoring, training, and development of tools, guidance, and learning products.
• Represent STRIDES‑MNCH with key donors and global health actors, ensuring effective communication and strategic alignment.
• Collaborate with the STRIDES Technical Director, MEL Director, and Program Implementation Director to operationalize technical strategy and ensure compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in MNCH surveillance, skilled care, and public‑health program implementation.
• Strong ability to work with regional and country teams, local partners, and government counterparts.
• Demonstrated capacity to provide strategic technical assistance and mentorship.
• Experience representing programs to donors and international health agencies.
