Cleaner Technician – 3 Openings

About the role

The Cleaner Technician will ensure a clean, safe, and hygienic environment at the IITA Madagascar office in Antananarivo. This role involves daily cleaning of offices, common areas, building surroundings, and facilities, supporting the efficient functioning of the workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Clean interior windows, window frames, glass partitions and doors.
• Dust furniture and clean surfaces such as desks, side tables, bookshelves, filing cabinets and chairs.
• Lightly clean IT equipment to remove dust.
• Empty trash bins, replace bags and ensure daily collection of building waste.
• Mop and sweep floors and stairs.
• Maintain large plant pots, sidewalks, main entrances, security booths and emergency exit stairs.
• Perform any other related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Secondary school certificate or equivalent with basic literacy and numeracy.
• At least two years of experience as a cleaner, janitor or office attendant.
• Integrity, commitment to IITA, and ability to work in a culturally diverse environment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, initiative and sound judgment.
• Fluency in Malagasy and ability to understand French and English.
