Country Director – Madagascar (Antananarivo)

About the role

Welthungerhilfe is seeking a Country Director to lead its operations in Madagascar. The role is based in Antananarivo and focuses on delivering sustainable, impact‑oriented programmes that contribute to the global Zero Hunger mission.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage the country strategy and programme portfolio.
• Represent Welthungerhilfe with government authorities, donors, partners and other development actors.
• Secure funding and build strategic partnerships for programme growth.
• Oversee financial stewardship, operational management and programme quality.
• Recruit, develop and retain qualified national staff and foster a culture of integrity and learning.
• Contribute to the Global Management Team’s strategic direction.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in humanitarian or development programmes.
• Strong track record in partnership building and fundraising.
• Excellent communication and representation skills at national and international levels.
• Ability to ensure safety, security and compliance of staff and operations.
