About the role
Onja is seeking a Finance Officer to join its finance team in Toamasina, Madagascar. You will support daily financial operations, ensuring accurate processing of payments, payroll, and compliance with local tax regulations while contributing to the organization’s mission of empowering under‑privileged youth.
Key responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, guaranteeing timely and accurate processing.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
- Prepare and process monthly payroll in coordination with HR.
- Record and organize all financial transactions and supporting documents.
- Support tax payments and ensure compliance with local regulations.
- Maintain an organized archiving and documentation system for finance.
- Proactively learn and improve financial systems and practices.
Required profile
- Strong logical thinking and a love for numbers.
- High attention to detail and integrity.
- Willingness to learn and grow in a fast‑paced environment.
- Comfortable with spreadsheets and basic digital tools.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Toamasina.
- Good team player with proficiency in English.
Required skills
- Excel (or equivalent spreadsheet software).
