Grant Writer

About the role

Onja is seeking a Grant Writer to help secure growth capital for its social‑impact software development program for under‑privileged Malagasy youth. You will work within a small, cross‑functional team to identify funding opportunities and craft compelling grant proposals that align with Onja’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Study and understand Onja’s model and its social impact.
• Research, qualify, and track grant opportunities.
• Assist the Fundraising team in developing and submitting grant proposals.
• Participate in a Rotary International grant application.
• Maintain records and submit reports related to grant activities.
• Undertake additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• English proficiency at C1 level or higher.
• Strong written communication and attention to detail.
• Ability to articulate Onja’s model and impact.
• Experience with social entrepreneurship, social work, or volunteering.
• Grant‑writing experience preferred, but a willingness to learn is essential.
• May be asked to provide a writing or proposal sample during the hiring process.
