Junior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Accountant to join Onix Engineering Group’s finance team in Antananarivo. The role is full‑time and on‑site, supporting daily accounting operations for a company active in civil works, fiber‑optic deployment and telecom infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Record financial transactions and maintain accurate general‑ledger entries.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
• Prepare basic financial reports and support month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Perform bank reconciliations, expense tracking and documentation organization.
• Support internal controls, ensure compliance with company policies and local accounting standards.
• Collaborate with senior accountants and operational teams to provide timely financial information.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow established accounting procedures.

Required profile

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (preferred).
• Understanding of general‑ledger posting, journal entries and basic financial statements.
• Strong analytical, numerical and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Good organizational and time‑management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of basic tax regulations and internal‑control principles is an advantage.
• Previous internship or entry‑level experience in accounting, preferably within engineering, construction or telecom sectors.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP or finance systems.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel or comparable spreadsheet applications.
