Language Lead – Localization & Linguistic Quality Assurance

About the role

We are looking for a senior Malagasy Language Lead to ensure high‑quality localization and linguistic quality assurance for all Malagasy‑language content. The role combines hands‑on translation and review work with the development and governance of language standards across product, marketing and legal materials.

Key responsibilities

• Define, maintain and continuously improve Malagasy style guides, glossaries, terminology databases and translation memories.
• Act as the linguistic quality authority, answering terminology, tone and style queries and conducting LQA checks, proofreading and editing of user‑facing content.
• Translate, review, post‑edit and adapt high‑priority English content into natural, culturally appropriate Malagasy.
• Support stakeholders by responding to linguistic questions, participating in quality meetings and providing onboarding and training for freelance translators.
• Collaborate with project managers, product, marketing and quality teams to ensure timely delivery and consistent brand voice.

Required profile

• Native‑level proficiency in written and spoken Malagasy.
• Full professional proficiency in English.
• At least 4 years of experience in translation, localization, linguistic QA or language leadership.
• Deep knowledge of Malagasy grammar, terminology, idioms and cultural nuances.
• Proven ability to manage terminology and translation‑memory resources.

Required skills

• Computer‑Assisted Translation tools such as Trados, MemoQ, Phrase or Lokalise.
• Terminology management and translation‑memory handling.
