Media and Communications Officer

About the role

SEED Madagascar is seeking a dynamic Media and Communications Officer to lead the implementation of its communications strategy from the coastal town of Fort Dauphin. The role combines daily social‑media management, content creation, and close collaboration with programme teams to amplify the organisation’s impact in sustainable development and conservation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and update SEED’s social‑media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok.
• Produce donor updates, fundraising appeal materials, and multimedia content for web and print.
• Supervise a junior team member and coordinate with the Communications and Programmes departments.
• Support the design and execution of advocacy campaigns and storytelling initiatives.
• Travel occasionally to rural project sites to capture field stories and visuals.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related field.
• Professional experience in media, communications or public relations, preferably within an international NGO.
• Strong written and spoken English; French is an asset.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with major social‑media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok).
• Content creation tools such as graphic design or video editing software.
