Mission Support Supervisor (Madagascar)

About the role

The Mission Support Supervisor assists the Mission Support Manager in overseeing mission facilities and properties in Madagascar. This people‑manager role ensures buildings are well maintained, resources are efficiently used, and mission staff receive the support they need.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Area Mission Support Manager in meeting mission facility needs.
• Coordinate regularly with the Mission President to align on mission priorities.
• Supervise mission drivers, housekeepers, and other staff; conduct performance reviews and manage hiring, termination, and promotions in partnership with HR.
• Approve expenses, handle onboarding, time‑off requests, and worker accident claims.
• Negotiate apartment leases, renewals, and closures.
• Scope, plan, and manage building‑maintenance projects, assigning work to vendors and ensuring cost, quality, and timeliness targets.
• Perform inspections to verify compliance with standards and safety/fire codes.
• Maintain inventory of Church‑owned furnishings and oversee disposal of excess or unserviceable items.
• Foster strong relationships with mission leaders, missionaries, employees, and vendors.

Required profile

• Current, valid temple recommend or eligibility to obtain one.
• Three‑year National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum two years of supervisory experience.
• At least two years of experience in facilities/property management, construction procedures, business practices, and safety/fire codes.
• Experience in front‑line management within a multi‑disciplinary environment.
• Professional communication skills with mission leaders, contractors, and vendors.
