Nutrition Specialist – Value Chain (Full‑time)

About the role

The Nutrition Specialist will support the design, implementation and monitoring of UNICEF's nutrition programme in Madagascar, focusing on improving children’s diets through nutrition‑sensitive value chain and food‑system approaches. The role combines technical guidance, policy analysis and coordination with government, partners and communities to achieve sustainable nutrition outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and prepare nutrition programme components related to value chain and food‑system development.
• Provide technical guidance and management support throughout programme cycles, ensuring alignment with UNICEF’s results‑based management framework.
• Coordinate UNICEF activities across agriculture, nutrition policy and governance, working closely with national and sub‑national stakeholders.
• Monitor, evaluate and report on programme progress, generating evidence for strategic planning and continuous improvement.
• Support the design of evidence‑based, equitable interventions targeting vulnerable children, adolescents and women.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in nutrition, public health, agriculture, or a related field.
• Experience in nutrition‑sensitive value chain, food‑system development or nutrition policy and governance.
• Proven ability to work with government counterparts, development partners, civil society and communities.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with experience in programme monitoring and evaluation.
