Research Assistant – Agricultural Research (4 openings)

About the role

The Research Assistant will provide technical and research support for IITA's agricultural research and development programmes in Madagascar. The role involves data management, protocol development, regulatory coordination and scientific reporting to help improve productivity, food security and sustainable agriculture.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support for the implementation of research activities.
• Consolidate databases and assess training needs for appropriate support.
• Obtain import authorisations in collaboration with national agricultural research systems and regulatory bodies.
• Analyse research results, draft reports and assist teams in publishing findings in various formats.
• Assist project teams and partners in preparing research protocols, demonstration videos and related documentation.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the line supervisor.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in administration, agronomic science or a related field; project‑management qualification is a plus.
• Demonstrated management and coordination ability, preferably within an international organisation.
• Understanding of CGIAR administrative systems is desirable.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English; bilingualism is an asset.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and problem‑solving skills.
