Socio-Organizer

About the role

The Socio-Organizer will strengthen the capacity, governance and effectiveness of Producer Organizations and farming communities in Antananarivo. The role focuses on mobilising, structuring and supporting these groups while integrating gender, youth, social inclusion and environmental safeguards into all activities.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, mobilise and support the structuring of Producer Organizations within the project area.
• Facilitate the establishment, formalisation, governance strengthening and networking of Producer Organizations.
• Design and deliver capacity‑building programmes on governance, leadership, organisational development, planning and financial management.
• Assist Producer Organizations in preparing and implementing action plans, resource mobilisation and partnership development.
• Organise community sensitisation, stakeholder consultations, exchange visits and conflict‑resolution activities.
• Strengthen linkages between Producer Organizations and key actors such as extension services, financial institutions, input suppliers and buyers.
• Promote gender equality, youth participation, social inclusion and environmental safeguards across all interventions.
• Coordinate data collection, monitoring, reporting, documentation and knowledge‑management activities.
• Collaborate with project team, local partners, government agencies and other stakeholders to ensure effective implementation.

Required profile

• University degree (minimum Bac+4) in sociology, human geography, rural development, agronomy, anthropology or related field.
• Additional training in community organising, organisational development or rural animation is an asset.
• At least three years of professional experience in community organisation, rural animation or development of Producer Organizations.
• Strong knowledge of participatory community development approaches, farmer organisation development and rural development.
