About the role

The World Food Programme (WFP) in Madagascar is looking for two interns to support the Emergency Preparedness and Response (EPR) section. The internship offers practical experience in humanitarian program management, focusing on emergency preparedness, early response, and risk‑reduction activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in logistical and operational preparation for meetings, workshops and field missions.
• Collect and analyse data on disaster risk, humanitarian needs and climate impacts.
• Draft reports, briefing notes and recommendations to improve response speed and effectiveness.
• Coordinate with local authorities, NGOs and international partners to strengthen collaboration.
• Support the development of project proposals and financial plans.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a graduate program (Bac+4/+5) in disaster risk management, or a recent graduate (within six months).
• Strong analytical, synthesis and writing abilities.
• Excellent command of Malagasy and French; English is an asset.
• Interest in humanitarian, climate and resilience topics.
• Malagasy nationality.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
