Station Accountant

About the role

The Station Accountant will oversee day‑to‑day financial management for the station, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, budget monitoring, and compliance with IITA and World Bank procedures. Reporting to the Project Head of Mission, the role combines financial reporting with administrative support.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review project financial reports and partner financial statements.
• Develop, maintain, and analyse budgets, and raise journal entries for necessary adjustments.
• Update, review, and reconcile donor receivables with total grant income.
• Support the institute’s annual audit by providing schedules and responding to queries.
• Produce month‑end budget monitoring reports and address queries from Budget Officers.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Required profile

• University degree (Master’s level) in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Experience managing projects funded by international donors is an asset.
• Excellent written and oral communication in French and English; Malagasy knowledge is a plus.
• Strong analytical mindset, team player, and high integrity.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Oracle financial software.
