Garage Supervisor

About the role

AL Abbas Mining and Transport Madagascar is seeking a full‑time Garage Supervisor to lead the on‑site workshop in Toamasina. The role focuses on maintaining the reliability of a heavy‑duty truck fleet that supports mining and logistics operations across Madagascar.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, assign and monitor daily maintenance and repair tasks for trucks, trailers and related equipment.
• Supervise a team of mechanics and technicians, ensuring compliance with safety procedures and quality standards.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory, coordinate with procurement and operations, and keep accurate records of repairs, inspections and downtime.
• Diagnose technical issues, prioritize critical repairs and support continuous improvement of garage processes.
• Conduct training on best practices and promote a strong safety culture within the workshop.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising a workshop or garage for heavy‑duty trucks, mining equipment or commercial vehicles.
• Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Ability to plan, schedule and prioritize maintenance to minimise fleet downtime.
• Experience maintaining maintenance records, work orders and equipment history using manual or digital systems.
• Familiarity with safety regulations, risk assessments and environmental compliance in a workshop setting.
• Basic inventory and parts‑management skills with cost‑control awareness.
• Effective communication and collaboration with operations, logistics, procurement and management teams.
