Chargée Achats – Purchasing Officer

About the role

SOMALAVAL, a leading paint manufacturer in Madagascar, is seeking a motivated Chargée Achats to manage the procurement process for its operations in Toamasina. The role involves coordinating purchase requests, handling supplier documentation, and ensuring smooth operational buying.

Key responsibilities

• Track purchase requests from validation to issuing purchase orders to suppliers.
• Receive and process commercial documents such as invoices, purchase orders, receipt notes and delivery notes.
• Verify the conformity of all purchase files and ensure accurate record‑keeping.
• Forward validated documents to the headquarters in Antananarivo after the “Bon à Payer” approval.
• Monitor the progress of operational purchases and resolve any issues.
• Maintain administrative follow‑up of invoices and supplier dossiers.
• Participate in logistical activities, including periodic inventory counts.
• Keep the workspace clean and orderly and adhere to safety procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (Bac+3) in Commerce, Marketing, International Trade or a related field.
• At least one year of experience in purchasing or a similar function.
• Strong command of office tools, especially Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with local suppliers and procurement processes.
