Community Mobiliser Officer

About the role

The Community Mobiliser Officer will act as the bridge between Save the Children and local communities in Toamasina. Reporting to the Project Coordinator, the role focuses on raising awareness of the organisation's programmes, delivering training to independent workers, and ensuring effective community engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Mobilise community leaders and members, explaining Save the Children activities and objectives.
• Design and deliver training sessions for independent workers to enhance their livelihoods.
• Engage local communities in the NGO’s projects and initiatives.
• Serve as the primary liaison between Save the Children and community stakeholders.
• Prepare high‑quality monthly reports on mobilisation activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Communication or a related field.
• 2‑3 years of professional experience with an international organisation or multinational.
• Proficiency with standard computer tools, especially Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong public‑speaking abilities and capacity to address diverse community audiences.
• Fluent in the local dialect and French.
• Ability to work under pressure and hold a valid driver’s licence.
