Hiring Officer

About the role

Onja trains underprivileged youth into software developers through a two-and-a-half-year programme, and operates as an integrated organisation of education, hiring and partner collaboration. As a Hiring Officer in Toamasina, you will support the Hiring Manager and Hiring Lead in attracting top talent, helping to shape the hiring strategy and improve the hiring process. The organisation hires based on potential, attitude and cultural fit rather than specific qualifications.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct introductory calls with qualified candidates to assess them.
• Scout for the best candidate matching the organisation's mission through channels such as LinkedIn, Facebook and job fairs.
• Follow up closely and organise tasks according to hiring priorities.
• Initiate the hiring process when a position needs to be filled.
• Post job ads for international and Malagasy vacancies.
• Organise, filter and respond to application emails.
• Refine the hiring strategy and process continuously.
• Manage the careers pages on the Onja website.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Hiring Manager and Hiring Lead.

Required profile

• Twelve-month commitment, with potential to renew or extend.
• B2 English minimum.
• Ability to connect well with people from different backgrounds and good communication skills.
• Familiarity with Onja's values and culture.
• Reference checks are part of the evaluation process.

Required skills

• Familiarity with ATS and CRM systems.
• Good analytical skills.
