About the role

Onja is seeking an HR Officer to support its Business Transformation Manager in delivering modern human resources services and fostering an inclusive, high‑performing workplace. The role is based in Toamasina, Madagascar, and offers the chance to contribute to a social enterprise that up‑skills under‑privileged youth into world‑class software developers.

Key responsibilities

• Administer workplace policies and procedures, including disciplinary actions and internal dispute resolution.
• Assist in developing and implementing performance management processes such as goal setting, evaluations, and professional development plans.
• Support the ongoing development of organisational culture and staff engagement strategies.
• Ensure employment‑related documentation is compliant and fit for purpose.
• Assist with compensation and benefits management, maintaining regulatory compliance.
• Respond to staff queries on HR matters and act as a focal point for employee relations.
• Help design and deliver HR training programs.
• Stay updated on HR trends, best practices, and applicable laws, recommending continuous improvements.
