Information Management Officer (Fixed-Term)

About the role

The Information Management Officer supports UNICEF’s emergency preparedness, response and coordination in Madagascar. Working under the guidance of the Chief of Field Operations and Emergencies, the officer develops and maintains information management systems, tools and products that enable evidence‑based decision‑making across the Country Office.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain information management systems, databases and tools for the Field Coordination and Emergencies (FCE) section and relevant programmes.
• Support sub‑national risk‑information processes, including risk dashboards and spatial‑temporal analysis of risk indicators.
• Leverage GIS for map production, geographic data management and creation of mapping products that illustrate emergency needs, response coverage, access constraints and gaps.
• Assist UNICEF‑led sectors in managing and updating sectoral and cross‑sectoral information management systems such as MGMERL, ensuring data quality, completeness and timeliness.
• Design and deliver training for sector partners on MGMERL and other IM tools, providing ongoing technical support.

Required profile

• Works under the supervision of the Chief of Field Operations and Emergencies.
• Collaborates closely with the Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation (PME) Section to align humanitarian IM products with corporate reporting frameworks.
