IT and Networking Officer

About the role

Onja is looking for an IT and Networking Officer to ensure reliable, high‑speed internet and robust IT infrastructure for its team in Toamasina, Madagascar. You will work directly with staff to set up computers, maintain hardware, and keep the network running smoothly, supporting the organisation’s mission to train under‑privileged youth as world‑class developers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, install and maintain the organisation’s network infrastructure, including routers, switches, access points and Ethernet cabling.
• Monitor internet performance, troubleshoot outages, liaise with ISPs and manage backup internet connections.
• Configure LTE connections, position receivers for optimal signal, and manage credit balances.
• Set up, repair and troubleshoot computers for new and existing team members.
• Maintain a physical server and ensure regular backups.
• Conduct internet‑security training for all staff.
• Track individual device usage and enforce network policies.
