Partnerships Specialist – Private Sector Engagement (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The Partnerships Specialist supports the Chief of Communications and Advocacy and senior management in expanding UNICEF’s private‑sector engagement in Madagascar. The role focuses on building collaborations with companies, foundations and business networks to mobilise resources and promote responsible business practices that advance children’s rights.

Key responsibilities

• Map private‑sector partnership opportunities in Madagascar and proactively identify, cultivate and promote collaborations with companies, corporate foundations and business networks.
• Work with UNICEF colleagues to pinpoint programme funding needs and develop partnerships that mobilise financial and non‑financial resources.
• Develop and implement an annual private‑sector partnership engagement plan aligned with UNICEF’s Business for Results (B4R) framework.
• Screen and manage inquiries from potential private‑sector collaborators and facilitate engagement with relevant UNICEF teams.
• Monitor the private‑sector landscape to identify emerging opportunities, risks and trends, providing timely analysis to inform partnership strategies.
• Provide strategic, logistical and programme support to senior management and staff in corporate engagement activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in developing partnerships with companies, foundations or business networks.
• Ability to identify programme funding needs and translate them into partnership proposals.
• Familiarity with UNICEF’s Business for Results framework or similar resource‑mobilisation approaches.
• Strong knowledge of the private‑sector environment in Madagascar, including emerging trends and risks.
• Capacity to enable private‑sector actors and policymakers on children’s rights within a business context.
