Senior Road Safety Campaigns / Vulnerable Users Expert

About the role

NTU International is looking for a senior expert to lead road safety awareness and behavioural‑change campaigns across the ECOWAS region. The role supports the EU‑funded Technical Assistance project aimed at safer, more inclusive mobility systems in West Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement road safety awareness and behavioural‑change campaigns targeting vulnerable users.
• Provide technical assistance on communication strategies, public outreach, and stakeholder engagement.
• Integrate gender‑sensitive and inclusive considerations into transport policies and road‑safety programmes.
• Develop communication materials, awareness tools, and public information campaigns.
• Prepare road‑safety studies, analytical reports, and policy recommendations.
• Coordinate with transport authorities, civil‑society organisations, educational institutions, media, and development partners.
• Deliver workshops, consultations, and capacity‑building activities on road‑safety communication.
• Support monitoring, reporting, and evaluation of campaign outcomes.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in communications, public health, social sciences, transport safety, behavioural sciences or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in road‑safety campaigns, public‑awareness programmes, or social‑inclusion projects.
• Proven experience working on transport or road‑safety projects in developing countries, preferably Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Experience with international development cooperation and donor‑funded programmes.
