Consultant Communication Officer

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Communication Consultant to support its pilot programme in Andasibe, Madagascar. The consultant will develop and implement communication, visibility and public‑information activities for the project.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute communication, visibility and public‑information strategies for the Integrated Territorial Model of Andasibe.
• Produce communication materials, manage media engagement, create digital content and support advocacy initiatives.
• Ensure effective dissemination of information on IOM interventions and strengthen the organization’s visibility among key stakeholders.
• Travel to other provinces to document field‑level activities as needed.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Journalism, Communications or related field (or university degree with four years experience).
• Minimum two years of professional experience as writer, editor or content producer, preferably in the region.
• Experience in digital communications, social media, corporate writing, donor visibility, media liaison, humanitarian communications and working with UN or international organisations.
• Fluency in Malagasy, French and English.
• Demonstrated gender awareness, professionalism under pressure and strong interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Adobe programmes (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Photography and videography skills, including shooting and editing.
• Digital communications and social‑media management.
• Corporate writing and editing.
