Finance Associate (G6) – Fixed-Term

About the role

The Finance Associate will be based in Antananarivo, Madagascar, supporting the Finance Officer in delivering finance, budget and administration services. This role ensures accurate recording, interpretation and reporting of financial data to facilitate effective decision‑making within the World Food Programme.

Key responsibilities

• Provide procedural and technical support to staff on finance and budget matters, ensuring compliance with WFP financial policies, rules and regulations.
• Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of financial policies and procedures.
• Record, analyse and interpret financial and budgetary information, preparing reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support budget preparation, monitoring and variance analysis.
• Coordinate with other units to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions and documentation.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related field.
• Experience in a similar finance or budgeting role, preferably within an international organization or humanitarian context.
• Strong understanding of financial regulations and budgeting processes.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
