Institute Director

About the role

The Institute Director leads Seminary and Institute programs for youth and young adults, guiding them in spiritual growth and preparation for temple blessings. This senior people‑manager position reports to the area/region director and works closely with stake leadership, local schools, and other church stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with area/region director, stake priesthood leaders, and local school administrators to align program goals.
• Prepare and manage the annual operating budget, monitor financial performance, and protect church assets.
• Lead institute teachers to increase youth participation, improve learning experiences, and support students with disabilities.
• Analyze enrollment data, set targets, and develop plans to boost enrollment, attendance, completion, and transition.
• Collaborate with the YSA coordinator to coordinate stake‑based institute initiatives.
• Conduct quarterly professional‑development discussions, monthly check‑ins, and regular performance feedback for faculty and staff.
• Oversee in‑service training focused on effective teaching and learning practices.
• Address feedback from student surveys and observations, helping teachers set improvement goals.
• Maintain a Christ‑like culture of unity, improvement, and accountability, escalating issues when necessary.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in administration, education, teaching, and staff development.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of educators.
• Strong partnership skills with church leaders, educators, and community stakeholders.
• Commitment to the mission of helping youth deepen their conversion to Jesus Christ.
