Legal Counsel – International

About the role

Onja is seeking an International Legal Counsel to protect and advance its legal interests as the organization expands. This part‑time, remote position will involve a twelve‑month commitment, with the possibility of extension.

Key responsibilities

• Provide accurate, timely legal advice to management and staff, focusing on employment law and dispute resolution.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Design and implement organisational policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks.
• Collaborate with external counsel, regulators, and other third parties as needed.
• Develop and deliver legal training programmes for the organisation.

Required profile

• Commitment to a twelve‑month term (renewable).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Bachelor of Laws or equivalent legal experience preferred.
• Strong stakeholder management, professional ethics, and integrity.
• Analytical, research‑oriented, and able to work both independently and within a team.

Required skills

• Knowledge of employment law and dispute resolution (preferred).
• Experience drafting policies and procedures.
