Project Assistant - Pilot Initiative, Andasibe

About the role

IOM Madagascar is looking for a Project Assistant to support its pilot initiative, the Integrated Territorial Model of Andasibe, which promotes clean cooking, reforestation and rural roads to tackle deforestation, climate vulnerability and limited rural connectivity. Working under the supervision of the Programme Officer and Chief of Mission, the assistant contributes to project planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting and stakeholder coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation and monitoring of project activities.
• Collect, analyse and present project-related information and data.
• Assist with budget monitoring and administrative project coordination.
• Draft reports, correspondence, briefing notes, presentations and project documentation.
• Organise meetings, workshops, training sessions and stakeholder consultations.
• Coordinate with government counterparts, UN agencies, NGOs, donors and implementing partners.
• Monitor implementing partners' compliance and report issues as needed.
• Maintain project records and support reporting requirements.
• Provide guidance and support to new or junior team members.
• Contribute to volunteerism initiatives and community engagement activities promoted by UNV.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or a related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated interest or experience in environmental sustainability, climate resilience, natural resource management, sustainable livelihoods, rural development, reforestation, clean energy or community-based development programmes.
• Fluent French (required).
