Senior AI / Digital Transformation Expert

About the role

NTU International is seeking a Senior AI / Digital Transformation Expert to lead the digital transformation component of an EU‑funded technical assistance project for ECOWAS transport governance. The role focuses on integrating artificial intelligence, smart monitoring systems and data‑driven decision tools across West African transport networks.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement digital transformation strategies and smart transport governance solutions.
• Provide technical assistance for AI integration into transport, logistics and infrastructure systems.
• Design AI‑enabled monitoring tools, predictive analytics platforms and digital decision‑support systems.
• Advise on automation, digital interoperability, data governance and innovation frameworks.
• Support corridor monitoring, customs digitalisation, road safety observatories and infrastructure management initiatives.
• Prepare technical specifications, innovation roadmaps and operational guidelines.
• Deliver workshops, training and capacity‑building activities for ECOWAS institutions and partners.
• Coordinate with ICT providers, transport agencies and development partners, and contribute to monitoring and reporting.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems, Digital Innovation, Data Science or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in digital transformation, AI or smart infrastructure systems.
• At least 7 years of experience in AI systems, smart governance platforms or related digital projects, preferably in developing countries.
• Experience working on donor‑funded or international development programmes.
