API Integration Specialist – Talend & FinTech Systems

About the role

On behalf of a pan‑African organization operating in telecommunications, financial services, energy, real estate and open innovation, we are looking for a Talend‑focused API Integration Specialist on a six‑month contract. The role will be based on‑site in Antananarivo, Madagascar and will support global teams delivering secure, scalable integrations for core banking and digital‑wallet platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop RESTful and SOAP API integrations using Talend ESB, Data Services and Studio.
• Integrate with core banking systems, KYC/AML providers, payment gateways and digital wallets.
• Implement authentication mechanisms such as OAuth2 and Basic Auth, ensuring secure data flows.
• Create transformation logic with Talend components (tXMLMap, tRESTClient, tSOAP).
• Collaborate with business and engineering teams to capture requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
• Provide exception handling, logging, monitoring and support deployment in QA and production environments.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience with Talend ESB, Data Services or Studio for API development.
• Strong knowledge of REST and SOAP web services, JSON, XML and data‑mapping standards.
• Familiarity with WSDL and OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
• Experience implementing API security using SSL, OAuth2 and API keys.
• Understanding of integration architecture, message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and micro‑services patterns.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and version‑control tools in API delivery workflows.
• Solid debugging, troubleshooting and performance‑tuning abilities.
