Communications Officer

About the role

Onja is a fast‑growing social enterprise that trains under‑privileged Malagasy youth to become world‑class software developers. As a Communications Officer you will help tell Onja’s story, engage audiences and build trust with stakeholders through compelling content and social media activity.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, schedule and manage content for Facebook and Instagram.
• Produce quarterly social‑media performance reports.
• Monitor inboxes and respond to community inquiries weekly.
• Co‑create and design engaging communication materials for the Malagasy audience.
• Support cross‑department initiatives, including video creation, event coverage and photography.
• Assist the communications team with any additional content needs as the role evolves.

Required profile

• Passionate about creating positive community impact.
• Proactive, organized and able to get things done.
• Strong written English skills and ability to communicate clearly.
• Creative mindset with an eye for storytelling.

Required skills

• Excellent writing and editing abilities in English.
