Excel Specialist – Remote Data Operations

About the role

We are looking for a highly analytical Excel Specialist to become the backbone of our data operations. Working remotely with finance, marketing, and operational teams across Africa, you will design advanced spreadsheet tools, automated dashboards, and interactive templates that turn raw data into actionable business intelligence.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain complex, scalable Excel workbooks, pivot tables, and interactive dashboards.
• Write and maintain VBA scripts and macros to automate data entry, extraction, and report generation.
• Clean, validate, and merge large datasets from multiple sources using Power Query and advanced lookup formulas.
• Develop dynamic forecasting, budgeting, and performance‑tracking models for senior management.
• Audit existing Excel files, troubleshoot formula errors, and ensure 100% data integrity.
• Translate technical data insights into clear visual formats and train cross‑functional remote teams on using the tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in data analysis, spreadsheet management, or financial modeling.
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage deadlines across African time zones.
• Strong problem‑solving, attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel – advanced formulas, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables, Power Pivot, Power Query.
• VBA programming and macro development.
• Data cleaning and merging techniques (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, advanced lookup functions).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI.
• Basic knowledge of SQL databases.
