Grant Writer

About the role

Onja trains underprivileged youth into software developers through a two-and-a-half-year programme, and is seeking growth capital to scale its model. Fundraising is a top priority, and the Grant Writer will identify funding opportunities and write grant applications. The role sits within the Communications team but works closely with Enterprise, Finance and Leadership colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Study and understand Onja's model and its impact
• Research and qualify grant opportunities
• Help the Fundraising team develop and submit grant proposals
• Take part in a Rotary International grant application
• Maintain records and submit reports on grant opportunities
• Carry out other tasks assigned by the supervisor

Required profile

• English level C1 minimum
• Some experience with social entrepreneurship, social work or volunteering
• Grant writing experience preferred; willingness to learn is most important
• A writing sample or proposal sample may be asked for during the process, and reference checks will be carried out
