Laundry Manager (Shipboard)

About the role

The Laundry Manager oversees the daily operation of the shipboard laundry facility, ensuring efficient processing of all linen, uniforms, and guest items. Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, the role combines technical oversight of equipment with coordination across multiple ship departments.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise washing, ironing, dry‑cleaning and storage of all laundry items.
• Maintain equipment functionality, schedule repairs, and ensure timely calibration with the Ecolab representative.
• Coordinate sorting and distribution of linen to cabins, food & beverage areas, spa, pool, and cruise‑division costume needs.
• Conduct daily inspections of dryers and other machines, submit inspection reports, and enforce quality controls.
• Manage chemical inventory, process requisitions, and operate within the established budget.
• Liaise with senior deck supervisors and other departments to guarantee timely return of top‑suite items.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising laundry operations in a hospitality or cruise‑ship environment.
• Strong judgment for corrective actions and ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills when dealing with guest requirements.
• Ability to work on a shipboard schedule and collaborate with multiple divisions.
