Mid-Level Research and Policy Analyst – Demographic Transition

About the role

Palladium is looking for a mid-level Research and Policy Analysis Consultant for a short-term technical assistance assignment in Madagascar. The work focuses on demographic transition and its implications for development, policy and investment, bringing together demographic and socio-economic evidence to inform decision-making and produce practical, audience-focused analytical products. The consultant must be locally based in Madagascar and show a strong understanding of the country's operating environment, institutions and development context.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct literature reviews, gather evidence and compile data
• Support quantitative and qualitative analysis
• Prepare evidence summaries, presentations, tables, graphics and briefing materials
• Contribute to drafting and revising technical and policy products
• Support documentation of consultations, findings and lessons learned

Required profile

• Degree in public health, economics, statistics, social sciences, development studies or a related field
• Experience conducting research, data analysis or evidence synthesis
• Excellent written and spoken French; English and Malagasy are an advantage
• Experience working in Madagascar and familiarity with its development context strongly preferred

Required skills

• Strong analytical, writing and presentation skills
• Ability to communicate complex evidence clearly and concisely
