Part‑time Coffee Roaster (Antananarivo)

About the role

The Madagascar Coffee Company is seeking a part‑time Coffee Roaster to join its Antananarivo team. You will be responsible for producing specialty coffee roasts that meet defined flavor profiles while maintaining consistent quality across batches.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain coffee roasting equipment on a daily basis.
• Monitor roast curves, adjust profiles as needed, and document all roast data.
• Conduct cupping sessions to evaluate the sensory qualities of each batch.
• Collaborate with the team to refine and develop new roast profiles for specialty coffees.
• Provide feedback on green‑bean quality and support training related to roasting standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace and contribute to continuous improvement of production processes.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of coffee roasting and specialty coffee fundamentals.
• Experience with quality‑control procedures and a focus on consistency.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow or adjust precise roast profiles.
• Familiarity with cupping protocols and sensory evaluation techniques.
• Commitment to workplace safety when handling roasting equipment.
