Senior Youth Employment & Skills Development Expert

About the role

NTU International is seeking a Senior Youth Employment & Skills Development Expert to lead youth‑focused employment and training initiatives within the EU‑funded “Technical Assistance to ECOWAS in Transport Governance” project. The role will support ECOWAS institutions and member states in building a skilled, inclusive workforce for transport, logistics and infrastructure sectors across West Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement youth employment and skills development programmes linked to transport, logistics and infrastructure.
• Provide technical assistance on vocational training, professional development and capacity‑building activities.
• Conduct labour‑market and skills‑gap analyses to inform training curricula and internship schemes.
• Advise ECOWAS bodies and national authorities on youth inclusion strategies and skills frameworks.
• Coordinate with universities, training institutes, private sector partners and development agencies.
• Deliver workshops, consultations and capacity‑building sessions for young professionals.
• Support monitoring, reporting and evaluation of youth‑focused initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in education, labour economics, human‑resource development, social sciences, public policy or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in youth employment, vocational training or workforce capacity‑building, with at least 7 years in senior roles.
• Proven experience on development, infrastructure or social‑inclusion projects in developing countries, preferably in Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Experience working with international development cooperation and donor‑funded programmes.
