SHEQ Advisor

About the role

The SHEQ Advisor will support Helios Towers’ SHEQ strategy across its Antananarivo operations and supply chain. Reporting to the SHEQ Manager, the role drives continuous improvement in health, safety, environmental and quality performance while ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain SHEQ policies, procedures and standards at sites and offices.
• Conduct risk assessments and propose mitigation actions.
• Perform regular planned and ad‑hoc inspections to verify HSE compliance.
• Monitor, report and address non‑conformities, recommending corrective and preventive actions.
• Support ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 certification and ongoing compliance activities.
• Prepare accurate SHEQ reports and performance data for management decision‑making.
• Lead or support investigations and audits, identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
• Coordinate with internal departments, contractors, service providers and external authorities.
• Assist in delivering SHEQ training programmes and monitor their effectiveness.
• Promote continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen safety culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Police Sciences or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years experience in a SHEQ role within construction, maintenance or infrastructure environments.
• Experience working in a matrix organisation and influencing contractors and partners.
• NEBOSH International General Certificate (or equivalent).
• IRCA‑approved lead auditor training (or equivalent).
• Fluency in French and English.
• Practical knowledge of the Madagascar operating environment.
